Summary
OceanBrowser is designed to provide a high quality course delivery system aimed at the needs of distance learners and educators. OceanBrowser allows educators to develop and securely deliver courses with unlimited amounts of content, to users who many only have partial internet access, while maintaining a reasonable level of content protection via the inbuilt content management system. The software provides a learning environment focused on ease and the needs of students. This environment combines a web browser, assistant panels, and learning modules. Specialised features include student notes (private), comments (shared with class) and annotations (image annotation). Highlights of the internet-enabled features include support for voice over internet (VoIP), and shared commenting (allowing users to add comments to web-pages viewable by other class members).
